Topciment — Spanish Microcement Reference

Topciment microcement finished surface

Topciment is the Spanish manufacturer most often cited when serious IL specifiers say microcement. The brand owns the widest SKU breadth in the 2-component cement-polymer microcement category, with engineered variants for nearly every use case — wall, floor, pool, kitchen worktop, exterior, marble-effect. Fifty-two standard colours plus custom matching. No other microcement manufacturer at scale offers this combination of depth and specialisation under one TDS family.

What sets Topciment apart

Most microcement brands compete in one SKU tier: thin decorative (Mortex), standard 2-component (Pavistamp PAVICEM), DIY-kit (Smartcret). Topciment ships in six distinct SKU families, each engineered for a different application envelope:

  • Sttandard — the workhorse 2-component cement-polymer for walls and floors
  • Evoluttion — one-component variant for repair, small areas, and faster turnaround
  • Atlanttic Aquaciment — engineered for pool, chlorine, salt, anti-slip granulometry
  • Microfino — very fine granulometry for wall finish, kitchen worktop, decorative panels
  • Marmolife — marble-veining effect achieved through differential pigment loading
  • Industtrial — epoxy-microcement hybrid for higher chemical and abrasion resistance

The strategic effect is that a single Topciment specification can cover an entire project's decorative microcement scope with consistent pigment palette across all variants. A villa with a pool deck (Atlanttic), interior bathroom (Sttandard), feature wall (Marmolife), and kitchen island (Microfino) can specify Topciment across all four and trust that the colours match.

The product range

Topciment Sttandard
The flagship 2-component cement-polymer system. 2–3 mm total in coats of ~0.5 mm. Matt to gloss finish (sealer-controlled). 52 standard colours plus custom matching. Walls and floors in dry or tanked-wet zones. The default Topciment specification. Sttandard product page.
Topciment Evoluttion
One-component cement-polymer microcement. Pre-mixed liquid component, faster to mix and apply. Useful for repair, small-area work, and projects where mixing-station setup is impractical. Slightly narrower colour range than Sttandard.
Topciment Atlanttic Aquaciment
Pool and salt-water grade. Anti-slip granulometry (XXL 0.9 mm base + XL 0.6 mm finish). Chlorine, salt, UV-stable. For pool basins, decks, spa, sauna, hammam. The only commodity-scale microcement with engineered pool-water-chemistry resistance. Atlanttic product page.
Topciment Microfino
Very fine granulometry for wall finish, kitchen worktops, decorative panels. Matt to silk finish. Available in both Evoluttion (1-comp) and Sttandard (2-comp) bases. Microfino product page.
Topciment Marmolife
Marble-effect variant. Achieved by applying multiple pigment layers with controlled trowel work to create veining patterns. Matt to satin finish. Used for feature walls in hospitality, luxury residential, retail design.
Topciment Industtrial
Epoxy-microcement hybrid binder for industrial decorative applications where chemical and abrasion resistance must exceed standard cement-polymer. Approaches the FeRFA Type 4 multi-layer floor specification with a microcement aesthetic.

Where Topciment wins

  • SKU breadth. The widest range in the microcement category. For projects crossing application envelopes (pool + interior, wall + floor), no other brand closes the spec with one TDS family.
  • Atlanttic pool-grade specification. The only commodity-scale microcement engineered specifically for chlorine and salt-water environments. For IL pool projects, this is the default.
  • Documentation quality. Topciment's TDS is the industry-cited template — binder ratios, Taber wear data, pull-off adhesion all in one document, in multiple languages. composition reference.
  • Marmolife marble-effect. Cement-polymer alternative to Marmorino at lower price and faster cure, while delivering the polished-marble visual. For projects that want marble look without lime authentication, Marmolife closes it.

Where Topciment loses

  • IL channel thinner than Sika. Specialty importers carry Topciment but the applicator network is smaller than Sika DecoDur through Gilar. For tender projects, verify the IL distribution and applicator pool by phone before close.
  • No mass-waterproof variant. For bathrooms without separate tanking, Mortex owns this envelope. Topciment requires standard tanking + microcement + PU sealer build-up in wet zones.
  • Brand identity emphasis on technical depth. Topciment's marketing is engineer-facing. For design-driven retail or hospitality projects where brand-name aesthetic mystique matters, Italian heritage brands (Marmorino producers, Ideal Work) sometimes win the architect's preference regardless of technical comparison.

The Atlanttic-deep-dive: why pool-grade matters

Pool environments combine three concrete-attacking agents: chlorine (chemical attack on cement matrix), salt (chloride ingress, especially in salt-water pools), and UV (degradation of pigment and binder). Standard cement-polymer microcement is engineered for indoor dry-to-wet conditions; specifying it for a pool surround typically produces visible fading within 12–18 months and chemical erosion within 3–5 years.

Atlanttic Aquaciment is the Topciment SKU built for this environment. The binder system uses chemistry engineered for chlorine and chloride exposure; the anti-slip granulometry comes from controlled aggregate sizing rather than broadcast (broadcast aggregate wears off the surface); the pigment system uses UV-stable mineral oxides only. The result is a pool-deck and pool-basin finish that holds dimensionally and chromatically for 8–12 years before refresh.

No other commodity-scale microcement publishes equivalent engineering for pool conditions. For IL pool projects this is not a brand preference — it is a spec requirement that closes to Atlanttic.

IL distribution and applicator network

Topciment ships into IL through several specialty decorative-finish distributors. The applicator network is smaller than Sika DecoDur (Gilar-trained) but larger than Mortex or Marmorino producers. Reference projects exist in IL coastal residential, hospitality, and pool installations but the brand has not pursued the same channel depth as Sika.

For specifiers: identify the importer first, confirm stock availability of the specific SKU (Sttandard / Evoluttion / Atlanttic / Microfino / Marmolife / Industtrial — they ship separately), and ask for two project references in the same SKU family done in the last 18 months.

Final read

Topciment is the right specification when a project crosses application envelopes (pool + interior, wall + floor, multiple finish types), needs pool-grade SKU at parity with cement-polymer chemistry, or wants the widest colour palette in the microcement category. It is the wrong specification when mass-waterproof bathroom-without-tanking matters (Mortex) or when IL channel depth and applicator availability dominate the decision (Sika DecoDur). The 7-way comparison covers the cross-brand decision in depth.
